New connections & Building water
Since the opening of the new competitive market in Scotland, the application process for new water and waste connections has changed.
As a general rule you should apply to Aquavitae for new connections for business use and to Scottish water for domestic connections.
So for a new permanent domestic connection you should still apply directly to Scottish Water. But for mixed domestic and commercial developments you’ll need to apply to both us and Scottish Water.

Connections for new or existing business premises
To apply to us for a new permanent connection for commercial premises, you’ll need to complete one or more application forms. You can access the appropriate forms by clicking on the relevant links below:
- If you need a new service pipe connection to the public water supply system, click here to complete Form SP1
- If you need a wastewater connection from a single business premises to a local sewer, click here to complete Form LS2
- If you need a new water mains, trunk mains or service reservoir connection, click here to complete Form TM/R3. (You should also complete form SP1)
- If you need a new wastewater connection to a sewerage main or trunk sewer, click here to complete Form SM/TS4. (You should also complete form LS2).
