At Aquavitae the main way we help customers achieve this is by enabling them to avoid wasting heated water. Sounds simple, doesn’t it? But it can result in
significant energy savings – good for the environment and your budget.
We recently helped a hospital in Wales to cut their carbon emissions from water heating down from 316 to 161 tonnes, and save around £6,250 per year on their energy bills into the bargain.
We did this by:
- fitting flow-reducing valves to hot taps, reducing the maximum flow to 6 litres per minute (down from as much as 20 litres per minute)
- and fitting shower regulating valves and aerating showerheads to reduce the water flow to 8-10 litres per minute (down from 13-14 litres per minute) without causing discomfort to the user.
